Welcome to the documentation/wiki for the Wikimedia Foundation's Shiro WordPress theme!

This repo manages the development code and work for the WordPress theme - known as Shiro - used by the Wikimedia Foundation website as well as the documentation for its usage.

Maintenance and development of this theme and the Wikimedia Foundation website are overseen by the Digital Media team within the Foundation's Communications department. See the "Contacting the team" page for more information on reaching this team.

The Shiro theme is the primary Wikimedia Foundation Brand theme in use on the organization's WordPress based websites, primarily WikimediaFoundation.org.

The Shiro theme is licensed under the GNU General Public License v2.0 and available for use on other WordPress sites.

It was originally forked from the Reaktiv Studios starter theme and Underscores with quite a few additions.
