The layout processor appears to include all of the newlines present in both source files, even as it eliminates the tags that are made redundant by whatever operations. This leads to rendered output with blank lines scattered at random, making reading the output rather difficult. Trivial issue, but it would be nice if lines made blank by the layout templating were removed entirely.

There are a few newlines that used to annoy me in the beginning, but I can't remember what they were there for any more (I think it was an IE conditional comments thing). If those are no longer necessary, then I'll see what I can do to make the decoration process run without making extra newlines.
I could only reduce the amount of whitespace copied surrounding the <html> tag as there was a test to ensure that items like comments outside the <html> were retained, brought about by the fix for #10.
