Sky Hong is a software developer and Computer Science undergrad at National Taiwan Normal University. He is currently working on UniCourse, an open-source course search engine for college students in Taiwan, as co-founder and project manager and has been an active contributor of g0v and SITCON communities.
He was born in 2002 in Tainan, Taiwan, and moved to Taipei with his family. He found an interest early in math and computer science in elementary school. During high school, his early research interests include Game Theory, Machine Learning, and Natural Language Processing. Now he is more interested in Online Learning, Information Retrieval, and Speech Recognition.
He has very diverse interests. He enjoys immersing himself in various art forms, unrestricted by any particular style. He likes to play classical music with others and has played instruments in many bands and orchestras since elementary school. He plays Harmonica, Clarinet, Violin, and more and occasionally posts clips on various platforms.
As a citizen, he is frequently concerned with the trends in Taiwanese media. He has also been an active member of the HSNU Student Council and NTNU Student Union, standing up for student rights. He also writes blogs and articles to share his thoughts and ideas.
As a software developer and data scientist, he deeply advocates problem-solving techniques focusing on digital governance and social issues. He also has a strong interest in open-source software and open data, believing that open-source software and open data are the keys to a better world.
