Quests
Quests are chained Events that start when you meet some nebulous requirement that is often obscure. They are listed in a main tab on the game, with information of varying relevance. Upon completion of the events, you'll be rewarded with items that passively improve your character's main stats, unfold some UI element, or improve an aspect of the game. Quest items can be viewed in your inventory, but do not need to be selected to have their effect take place (except rebirth and crafting).
Quest Items drop rates are not affected by Luck.
Below is a list of every quest and quest item in the game, in no particular order:
Essences are primarily used to upgrade gear items at The Altar of Transcendence (64, 44). Bringing an essence of ash, thorns, darkness, 1000 enchanting dust, and an unenchanted Ascended base item will allow you to Upgrade that item to a transcended item.
You will not be able to use essences until you have movement on forbidden tiles (you gain the ability to move onto forbidden tiles once you have acquired the orb of forbidden power, which requires the Naga scale, tavern trophies, aqua lung, and droops quest completed, and are level 5k). It is possible to lock yourself out of the class upgrade questline by collecting an essence of ash from the burned harlequin. If this happens, there is no current way of getting rid of that quest item until it is used.
Item Name | Boss / Monster Name | Function |

---|---|---|
Broken Scepter | ??? | ??? |
Scepter of Travel | ??? | ??? |
Otherworldly Gearbox | ??? | ??? |
The first quest most players will encounter, this progresses pretty much automatically.
Task | Reward |
---|---|
Reach level 10 for the first time | Totem of Rebirth |
Rebirth once | Totem of the Champion |
Reach level 100 for the first time | Totem of Champion's Rebirth |
Rebirth twice | Totem of the Hero |
Reach level 5000 | Totem of Heroic Rebirth |
This quest will be marked incomplete whenever you reach level 5000 and rebirth again. Upon Rebirthing at level 5000, you'll be rewarded with a random piece of Ascended gear that has a tier 3 enchantment (also chosen at random).
This questline is meant to introduce ports and how to travel long distances using them.
Task | Reward |
---|---|
Walk into any Water Tile | Quest Trigger (no item) |
Go to any port but Valtham Landing | Old Boot |
Go to Valtham Landing (35, 60) |
Old Pocket Watch, random Fisherman's Reward |
Go to Boatwright Docks (52, 64) |
Old Fishing Rod, random Fisherman's Reward |
Go to Northern Point (60, 15) |
Old Fishing Book, random Fisherman's Reward |
Go to Sherlam Landing (90, 87) |
Old Walking Stick, random Fisherman's Reward |
Go toRotherham Docks (90, 49) |
Old Coin, random Fisherman's Reward |
Go to The Hidden Stump Inn (42, 32) |
Lucky Coin, lose half of held gold |
Below is the pool of items you will recieve whenever the quest gives a "random Fisherman's Reward".
Name | Effect |
---|---|
Hero's Bracelet | +50% Strength |
Rod of Speed | +50% Dexterity |
Fortitude Ring | +50% Constitution |
Occult Tome | +50% Intelligence |
Wisdom Statue | +50% Wisdom |
Worship Disc | +50% Willpower |
It's worth noting that you can also just teleport from location to location given a high enough int stat. The quest may not trigger until you move one tile away and back to the quest tile if you travel this way.
Task | Reward |
---|---|
Obtain the Magic Bubble (random drop) | Quest Trigger (no reward) |
Have Possession of the Magic Bubble and any Class upgrade | Aqua Lungs (lose Magic Bubble) |
Not entirely sure what the requirements for Magic Bubble to drop are.
This quest is a hide-and-go-seek that triggers immediately after completing the Washed Up quest.
Task | Reward |
---|---|
Complete Washed Up Quest | Quest Trigger (no item) |
Kill Hobgoblins | Notification detailing the general direction of Droop (no item) |
Kill hobgoblins on tile Droop is located on | Alvarado's Cloak |
The Maps that you receive are inaccurate. They will never indicate that you are on the map's right row or column (will always say northeast, southeast, southwest, or northwest no matter what), and the exact point they direct you to is within three tiles of Droop's actual location. In example, if droop is located at 10,10, and you're at 50,10, you can receive a map that says northwest, and staying on the same tile, get another map that says southwest. Droop can spawn on any land tile in the entire world map, usually very far from the starting point. Yes, that does mean this quest is mildly aggravating at best.
Incomplete Questline to enable some pretty handy settings. Not required, but definitely desired.
Task | Reward |
---|---|
Obtain Inconclusive Clockwork(random drop) | Quest Trigger (no item) |
Go to Steamgear Tap House (95, 44) | Unimaginable Gearbox (lose Inconclusive Clockwork) |
This quest has a planned next step; the current questline will not be complete until a future update.
Task | Reward |
---|---|
Farm monsters until you get enough random drops | Crafting Hammer |
Have at least 5k dust and 200 enchanted items in your inventory | Spectacular Spectacles |
This is a Hidden Quest that doesn't appear in the quest log. This is a combination of drops, traveling, and complaining in chat. Two of the items required for this quest are random drops from specific enemies. This quest cannot be completed without the Aqua Lungs (ability to travel on water).
Task | Reward |
---|---|
Bring Mound of Flesh to The Hellhound's Fur (25, 58) | Chimera Hook (lose Mound of flesh) |
Bring Lamp Oil to Steamgear Tap House (95, 44) | Bird Figurine (lose Lamp Oil) |
Bring Bird Figurine and Chimera Hook to Sherlam Landing (90, 87) | Precious Flaying Knife (lose both items) |
Bring the Precious Flaying Knife to the Drowned Fish (87, 59) and kill Sentinel Naga's | Naga Scale (lose Precious Flaying Knife) |
There's a lot of speculation on this questline's actual requirements right now. Treat this as more of a general guide than hard rules. Current Speculation is that the quest won't work unless you've completed Droops Quest.
Task | Reward |
---|---|
Have > 10 Billion Gold | Quest Trigger (no item) |
Go to Palace of Rotherham (90, 45) | 10x Clean Rags |
Kill monsters untill all rags are bloody | 10x Bloody Rags |
Go to Palace of Rotherham (90, 45) | Random "active" Quest artifact |
Once complete, this quest can be re-completed by going back to the castle and getting more rags. The higher tier of enemy you kill, the better the "blood" on the rags, which leads to a higher chance of getting good effects on the artifact reward.
An incomplete questline related to Settlements (upgraded camps, can be built on any wilderness tile on the map). Population in a settlement slowly climbs as long as there are enough resources available for the settlement.
Task | Reward |
---|---|
Have >= 1000 population in a settlement | Quest Trigger, Governer's title |
The only valid reason to pursue this questline is to have your settlement act as a bank. they currently serve no purpose.
This Quest is a kill quest for each of the tavern's most challenging monsters. These monsters hit very hard at first. It Can be completed in any order, but the preferred order is as listed. The quest items are not guaranteed to drop.
Task | Reward | Effect |
---|---|---|
Fight the Demilich at The Hellhounds Fur (25, 58) | Engraved Lich Rib | 2x all stats, +1 weapon tier |
Fight the Kraken at The Drowning Fish (87, 59) | Kraken Shell Medallion | 2x all stats, +1 armor tier |
Fight the Demilich at The Hidden Stump Inn (42, 32) | Hidden Stump Trophy | 2x all stats, 2x dodge |
Fight the Demilich at Steamgear Tap House (95, 44) | Interesting Mechanical Trophy | 2x all stats, improved auto-battler |
The end-game quest line, requires all other quests be completed first.

Not listed in the quest tab, every class has a hidden upgraded version.
This progresses by collecting the fully upgraded minor class item and class-specific item, then combining them by fighting a Burned Harlequin.
Each of these is related to a specific class upgrade quest but does not require you to be currently playing that class. You must be fighting an enemy with the minimum tier as noted for each item for them to have a chance of dropping. When you get an upgraded item, you'll lose the one from before (EX: upon receiving Archer's Determination, you'll lose Archer's Impatience)
Item Name | Requirements | Minimum Tier | Effect |
---|---|---|---|
Archer's Impatience | None | 10 | 50% chance to shoot ranged weapons twice. |

Vampire's Darkness | Vampire's Gaze | 30 | +30% Constitution. Enchantments pierce 75% resistances. |
None of these items have an effect but are required to get to an upgraded version of each class.
There is also no minimum tier of monster required to fight... but the drop rate for any item is 1/20000.

The effects of each class are (or will be) noted in the game mechanics section of the wiki.
The class upgrade weapons retain the stat boosts that the minor class items had; the boost is not shown in the inventory.
It is possible to lock yourself out of this quest by collecting a quest item from the burned harlequin for a late-game questline. If this happens, there is no current way of getting rid of that quest item until it is used.
