Note: it'd be nice if instead of saying 4 matches it said showing 2 of 4 matches or whatever -- the 4 matches text is not helpful for various reasons (amongst other things, it's practically invisible)

Admittedly, the new code search doesn't tell me about matches at all. It also definitely doesn't tell me about all of the files it skipped.

P.S., the reason I went down this 🐰🕳️ is that these searches:

Whereas this search worked:

I know GitHub is trying to train me not to use code search unless I want to embarrass myself, but let's just say I was sleepy and this was embarrassing.
