The problem is related to the reading of Manga : as you know, the books are in reverse order (from right to left). Consequently, when opening a mange, in cbz / cbr format for instance, the pages are not in the correct order.
Describe the solution you'd like
A lot of book readers/viewers manages such thing with a simple option to display the pages switching right and left pages. For instance, default Ubuntu (pdf ?) file viewer manages this. It show not be that hard to implement as it is only a matter of switching left and right pages when on a double page display.
Describe alternatives you've considered
A solution is to display the pages only one by one (which doubles the amount of pages changes you have to do while reading a manga... not really convenient), to avoid some stranges displays. All-in-all, for now, with such issue and with the lack of functionnalities mentionnes in #396 for a usefull library view.. it feels like default Ubuntu Reader does a better job for such need..! :o
Additional context
For the example, bellow the display of a manga in cgz I have, with foliate first, compared to the default file reader included with Ubuntu :
Foliate :
Ubuntu File reader :
