Cannot start game after patch v2.6 #60

I am unable to start a new game after reinstalling post patch v2.6. I uninstalled all mods and did a fresh install of the game. To start, the icon on my toolbar is blank. When I am brought into the game, I am taken to the BG2EE main page with no option for BGEE. I then try to start a game in BG2EE; however, it is in an infinite loop taking me back to the main BG2EE page.
