Describe the bug
When using the kernel backend, the status of a tunnel in the app's main page will "flicker" between handshake: never and 0 tx/rx and showing the actual correct information about once a second.

Smartphone (please complete the following information):

  • Device: OnePlus 7T (hotdogb)
  • Android Version: Android 15 / LineageOS 22.1
  • App Version 3.6.6 from F-Droid
  • Backend: Kernel

To Reproduce

  1. Select the kernel backend
  2. Activate a tunnel
  3. Observe the behavior described above

Expected behavior
The connection information is shown steadily.

Additional context
