How do I modify the update notification banner

Is there a way to modify the update notification banner on Netbox-Docker?
I'm trying to find a way to make it only show up when there's a new netbox-docker version, or when there's a new x.x version rather than x.x.x?

I saw a similar disscussion in the netbox fourm (Upgrade notification banner #8800), but it's from a few years ago, and only about supressing the notification. It doesn't seem 100% related to the docker version of netbox.
