Feature Overview

It is quite common to spread out savings for a certain purpose across multiple platforms or accounts, but you may still want to see the total and timeseries data combined for a that purpose, even if the accounts are completely different.

Therefore, it would be good to be able to categorize accounts, or potentially to add tags to them.

Would suggest making it quite similar to existing categories which are user-defined. Would also suggest creating a filterable chart based on this information.

I was looking into the same functionality (or plans for it) and landed here. I think this one got closed incorrectly as the request was assumed to target categories for transactions and not really for accounts...

I second the original request, it would be great to have tags for accounts (that would allow to implement sort of groups/visibility conditions at some point in the future).
Simple use-case: tracking all family accounts and assign each account a tag for the "main" family member - holder of the account. As a user I'm interested in seeing a combined view for the family but also check how the kid portfolio/position is doing overall for example. Of course to attain this functionality a lot of effort is required but the base to allow future extensions is tag support for the account model.

Good stuff @enen92 @zachgoll and yes can confirm it's about grouping accounts not transactions.
