[bug]: Local development compilation takes very long and eats up all of the RAM

Current behavior

When I run the development build using
docker compose -f docker-compose-local.yml up
the ram quickly fills up, until the application crashes or my system freezes.

Compilation also takes way too long, for example:
web-1 | web:dev: web:develop: ✓ Compiled / in 55.5s (13236 modules)

Am I doing something wrong? Can this be improved somehow?
