Why can't use external libraries or local modules be used in tab_bar.py?

I'm trying to use my custom module from ~/.config/kitty/mpd_bar.py

But it tells me that the mpd_bar module does not exist, I even tried with libraries like numpy or paramiko and I get the same error

Because kitty has its own copy of python. It doesnt use the system python unless you build it against the system python. Use sys.path to make pure python deps importables.
