How to run coffee-editor by electron

Dear developer:
I am a beginner with Theia, and I am trying to learn by starting with the coffee-editor project. I have successfully built and launched the coffee-editor project in the browser, but I need to run it in Electron so that it can be used on the desktop. However, I am unsure how to do this.
I have read the Theia documentation and made an attempt: I tried modifying the package.json file.

After making these changes, I tried to rebuild the project, but an error occurred:

I try to fix this issue by the suggest of : balena-io-modules/drivelist#389 (comment)
And i also notice the article :#14845
But I'm not sure if this issue with coffee-editor has been fixed.
Additionally, in order to run coffee-editor in Electron, I have a question: Is my current approach correct (only modifying the package.json file without changing the code)? If it's not correct, what should I do?
This issue has been confusing for me, perhaps because I haven't found a suitable beginner's tutorial. I would appreciate any suggestions or guidance from you all.

Hi @Pitwng,

You should also update the script section.
Take a look at this two package.json from the theia repo:
browser
electron

The relevant script changes are:
"rebuild": "theia rebuild:electron --cacheRoot ../..",
and also the devDependencies need to be updated.

Thank you very much for your reply. I followed your advice and made some attempts. I tried updating Theia to the latest version, 1.58.1, but encountered many errors with coffee-workflow-glsp. I suspect these issues might be related to the version of Theia.

It seems like the issue is due to an inconsistency in the inversify versions. Do you have any suggestions to help me resolve this problem?

I would not update to 1.58.1 but keep theia on 1.34.1 first.
In order to use Theia 1.58.1 you will need to update more dependencies.

Thank you for your response. I followed your suggestion and tried it out, but I was unable to update only the scripts without also updating the theia@cli version, because the theiaext command cannot be found.
My attempts are as follows:

The "theiaext not found" issue has been bothering me. I tried removing the theiaext build command from the scripts, but there are still other errors, such as the following: "rebuild": "theia rebuild:electron --cacheRoot ../.." — this command fails to execute.
I apologize for bothering you with this issue, but if you have any suggestions, please let me know. I will continue trying to resolve it. Thanks again!
