Improve Event Type Organization with Folders

Is your proposal related to a problem?

Currently, all event types within a team are displayed in a single long list, and the only way to find a specific event type is by using the search bar. For larger teams or teams that require many event types, this quickly becomes unmanageable, making it difficult to locate the correct event type efficiently.

While Cal.com offers an "Organizations" plan, which allows users to create multiple teams, this is not a practical solution for organizing event types within a single team. Managing multiple teams with the same members just to better categorize events creates unnecessary complexity. Instead, we need a way to improve event organization within a singular team where all members have access to the same structured event types.

Describe the solution you'd like

We propose adding a Folder feature that allows users to group event types into custom folders within a single team. This would enable better organization and allow teams to quickly find relevant event types without searching through an extensive list.

Examples of how folders could be used:

• Sales Teams: Separate event types for "Initial Consultations," "Follow-up Meetings," and "Client Demos."
• Support Teams: Group events by "Technical Support Calls," "Onboarding Sessions," and "Check-ins."
• Internal Team Meetings: Organize "1:1s," "Departmental Meetings," and "All-Hands Meetings."
• HR & Recruitment: Create folders for "Candidate Interviews," "Training Sessions," and "Performance Reviews."

This feature would not require the overhead of managing multiple teams under the "Organizations" plan, making it a much more efficient and practical solution.

Describe alternatives you've considered

Using the Organizations Plan: As mentioned, creating multiple teams just for sorting event types is not ideal, as it introduces unnecessary complexity and requires additional administrative management.

Relying on Search: While searching for event types by name is currently possible, it does not provide a structured way to manage or categorize event types, making it inefficient for teams with large numbers of event types.

Additional context

A folder-based system for event types would align with best practices seen in other scheduling and project management tools, improving the overall user experience for teams managing multiple event types.

Requirement/Document

No external documentation, but this feature could follow a similar structure to folder-based organization seen in other platforms for content or meeting management.
