Cal.com is not usable for people with multiple teams, as team events are always booked to the default calendar.

You should be able to configure the default calendar per team. Settings > Team > Settings > Default Calendar (same component as under Personal Event Type > Advanced > Choose Calendar)

Not using Cal.com
Additional context
This is an obvious non starter. Team events must book on the correct team calendar.
Requirement/Document
Booking an event on a team calendar should put the event on the correctly assigned work calendars of the team members.
