Automatic messages backup #1
Comments
Please adjust your feature request report to the issue template. EDIT: Thanks! |
Hello Indeed could be interessting. Actually I use this app to do it : https://f-droid.org/fr/packages/com.github.tmo1.sms_ie/ I don't know if it possible to isolate this feature and communicate/configure/delegate it to an another app. |
Maybe it should be on org level as calls, settings could be saved same way and add it to commons library? |
Any update on this? |
It's not being worked on for now, you can subscribe to this issue for future updates. |
Great App Suite : Messages, Phone, Contacts and others !!! Is this Messages App by design without Internet access ? Like Phone or Contact ?
Would it be helpful (and ethical ?) to provide examples of other FOSS projects with those Backup/Sync features to help bolster design and coding ? |
@mahdiaqallal All Fossify apps don't have Internet access. |
It is already implemented in Fossify Contacts and Calendar. So team have example of implementation. |
The automatic backup should happen even without being the default SMS app. It should be possible to open the app without being the default SMS App. This would allow changing settings and doing manual backups without changing the default app. This can be done with the Fossify Phone app (except setting automatic backups which is not currently available). This can be done with SMS Backup & Restore (com.riteshsahu.SMSBackupRestore) and Super Backup (com.idea.backup.smscontacts) from Google Play. |
@4gh22sab Please avoid non-FOSS suggestions. |
@camlafit suggestion was nice and is my solution for now: with nextcloud autoupload (warning for current google-play version) or syncthing works it perfect. I just wish the import would work correct (on Fossify-Message side, on QUIK it works correct): #42 (this issue is just closed if import happens with this/Fossify-Messages ) |
These are not suggestions, but examples of other apps that are able to backup messages without being the default SMS app. |
